Amtrak from New York City is a spectacular 2 hour trip along the Hudson River, from NY Penn Station (NYP) to Hudson NY (HUD). Town is a 5 minute walk from the train station and taxis wait at the station.

There's no one source for Hudson lodging options but you might start here or contact me about the region, restaurants I'd recommend.
